The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 19.06.2017 (Monday) nominated to Bihar governor Shri Ram Nath Kovind as the National Democratic Alliance’s for presidential candidate, turning down two party veterans names like Shri Lal Krishna Advani and another one Shri Murli Manohar Joshi.
The External affairs minister
Smt. Sushma Swaraj, social justice minister Thawar Chand Gehlot and Lok Sabha
speaker Sumitra Mahajan were also being considered for the top post.
