Tata Tigor has been launched in India to carry forward the legacy of India’s first sub-four meter sedan, Tata Indigo, which will soon be phased-out. Carrying sticker price of Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the carline is available with petrol and diesel engines in four manual variants, missing out on the AMT unit. The Styleback as Tata calls it, is based on the company’s stellar hatchback Tiago. The two models share comprehensive design and styling elements, although, Tata has given slightly new treatment to Tigor to distinct it from its donor hatchback.

Aside from the subtle styling bits, the rear is all new, thanks to the boot. The 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are new on the Tigor, which are restricted to the range topping petrol trim while the 14-inch alloys from Tiago are carried over to the diesel version. Improvising on space, Tata has cleverly increased the wheelbase by 50mm compared to Tiago allowing more space on the inside and has kept 419 litres of boot space for storing luggage.
